Tracking time

Time entries

You add times afterwards, correct them, add breaks and comments – and see where you worked.

Add time afterwards #

You add a new entry via “+” at the top right of the Overview › “Add Time Entry”, via “+” under More › All Time Entries, or directly in the calendar – then the day and time are already filled in.

How to

  1. Choose the “Project” – or “No project” – and the “Date”.
  2. Set the “Start Time” and “End Time”.
  3. Enter a “Break (minutes)” if needed. If you leave the field empty, the break rule from the work profile applies – the grey value in the field shows it.
  4. Optionally add a “Comment” and tap “Save”.
  • Under “Duration” you immediately see the “Raw time” and the “Billable” time according to the project's billing mode.
  • If you switch off “Set end time”, the entry keeps running from the start time until you stop it.
  • If a “Default Project” is selected under More › Time Tracking, it is preselected for new entries.
NoteStart and end are always on the same day, and the end time must be after the start time. Enter work past midnight as two entries.

Edit an entry #

Tap an entry in “Recent Entries”, in “All Bookings” or under More › All Time Entries. The same dialog opens as when adding, now with the title “Edit Entry”.

In the time entry list, Timenor marks edited entries with a grey pencil and entries added by hand with a yellow pencil.

When editing, the break rule does not apply. Here, an empty break field means no break.

Comment and location

View the location on an entry #

If a location was recorded when clocking in or out, the entry shows a map with a green “Start” pin and a red “End” pin. Below it are the address and time.

Tap the full-screen icon at the top right of the map to enlarge it and move it around. Tap the map icon next to an address to open the place in Apple Maps.

Record a reason for the change #

When editing, there is the “Reason for change” field. Note there, for example, “Stopped the timer too late”. This keeps it clear why a time was adjusted afterwards.

A saved reason appears in the field again the next time you open the entry. If you clear the field, the reason is deleted.

Overlaps #

If an entry overlaps with another completed entry, Timenor asks when you save, under “Overlap”: “This entry overlaps with another entry. Save anyway?”

With “Save Anyway” you keep the entry; with “Cancel” you return to the dialog and correct the times.

Delete an entry #

Open the entry, tap “Delete Entry” at the very bottom and confirm “Really delete this entry?” with “Delete”. In the lists you can also swipe an entry to the left (see Booking lists).
