Tracking time

Timer

With the timer on the Overview you record working time live: choose a project, start, stop.

Start the timer #

The card then shows “Tracking Active”, the start time (“since 08:30”) and the elapsed time, updated every second.

How to

  1. Open the “Overview” tab.
  2. On the timer card, tap the project name and choose a project from the list of your active projects.
  3. Tap “Start”.

Stop a running timer #

Tap “Stop”. Timenor saves the booking with start and end time, ends the Live Activity and – if enabled – creates an iCloud backup.

You can also stop the timer from the Lock Screen or the Dynamic Island without opening the app (see Live Activity).

If a break rule is switched on in the work profile, Timenor enters the break when you stop. Timenor can stop forgotten timers automatically.

NoteA booking always belongs to the day on which it started – even if the timer runs past midnight.

Record the location when clocking in #

Timenor can record where you worked when you start and stop. The address later appears on the entry, in the time entry list, in Analytics and optionally in the CSV export.

  • Automatically: Turn on More › Time Tracking › “Location Tracking” and choose under “Capture Time” whether to record at the start, at the end or both.
  • Case by case: If automatic recording is off, the timer card shows the “Capture start location” switch before starting and “Capture end location” while recording.
NoteWhen you turn it on for the first time, iOS asks for location permission. Timenor only uses your location “While Using the App”. With “Capture Time” set to “Start and End”, “Capture end location” is already switched on after you start.

Several running entries #

Besides the timer, other entries can be running open, for example if you add an entry by hand with “Set end time” switched off.

While the timer is running, such entries appear below the timer card with project, start time, elapsed time and a red stop button. If no timer is running, the Overview shows the first open entry as a banner, with any others below it. In the banner you can stop the entry or edit it using the pencil.

NoteAs long as an entry added by hand is running open, “Start” on the timer card is disabled. Stop the open entry first.
