Getting started

Getting started

Timenor records your working time with a timer or by hand, assigns it to projects and shows you your target, actual hours and balance at any time.

First launch #

The very first time you open Timenor, it welcomes you with an overview of its three core features: timer and time entries, analytics and export.

You decide whether to start with demo data or with an empty app. Straight afterwards, iOS asks whether Timenor may send you notifications. Timenor uses them for the reminder when time tracking runs for a very long time and for the notice when a timer was stopped automatically.

How to

  1. Tap “Start with Demo Data” if you want to try Timenor first.
  2. Tap “Start Empty” if you want to get going with your own projects straight away.
  3. Allow notifications if you want to be reminded about long-running timers.

How Timenor is organised #

At the bottom you find five tabs:

  • Overview – timer, today's status, monthly progress, week bars and your recent entries.
  • Projects – your projects with client, colour, hourly rate and billing mode.
  • Calendar – week, day and month view of your times, optionally with your iOS events.
  • Analytics – hours, balances, vacation balance and revenue for week, month, quarter or year.
  • More – all time entries, export, settings, working hours & planning, backup and Timenor Pro.

Try it with demo data #

The demo data creates four sample projects with clients and hourly rates, plus bookings from the last few weeks, a vacation, a sick leave and a few holidays. This way you can see straight away how Overview, Calendar and Analytics look with real figures.

When you are done, remove the samples under More › Danger Zone › “Remove Demo Data” and confirm with “Remove”.

Note“Remove Demo Data” only deletes the sample projects with their bookings, plus the sample vacation, the sick leave and the sample holidays. Projects, absences and holidays you added yourself are kept. The button remains available until you remove the demo data – even after a restart.
